the deb from zoom ships with a shell script launcher that runs the
binary with "nohup" ...
 
you can use the zoom-client snap, i explicitly packaged it without that
backgrounding hack, if you stop it from the taskbar, it is gone ...

(or alternatively keep the deb and hack the "zoomlinux" launcher script
in /opt/zoom and remove the nohup there)
