Completely independent of the education level, a huge part of
the German vocabulary for Germans who are 50+ years old, is ancient
Greek, as well as Latin, so "it's all Greek to me" wouldn't make much
sense. One of the best German word creations is "hexadezimal". "Hexa" is
Greek and "decem" is Latin. Seemingly not only Germans are using this

It's very funny that we are able to talk about such things, while some
of us, including myself, are only able to speak broken English.
Language is the most important masterstroke of human beings. Even if
the usage of language is terribly broken, we are still able to
understand each other, while a computer already fails, if syntax is a
little bit wrong.

OTOH I once watched a documentation about the North American
Hutterites, the German they speak is completely different to the German
we speak in Germany. I was able to understand the words, but not the
meaning of the sentences.
