unable to install ubuntu 16.04.2

I installed the Ubuntu Server 17.04 on a Dell R710 machine.

I am asked about another password (sudo or root)... not sure after I get an ok from typing my password.


I don't know what to enter for that extra password or whatever code it is asking for.

Hi,

I downloaded the Ubuntu 16.04.2 iso, and created the DVD. when I tried to install this
on a Windows XP machine and also a Windows 7 laptop, in both cases I get a purple screen with at the base of the screen a pictogram of a rectangle followed by
"=" followed a pictogram of a man in a circle.

nothing further seems to happens.

why am I unable to install 16.04.2?
