No, never post a message that is related to your request, you get
better help, if we have to guess or use crystal balls.

I don't understand why you want to perform a partial upgrade, resp. are
you using GRUB at all?

GRUB likely is a recommended dependency, if so, then it could be removed
assumed you shouldn't use it. However, Petter suggested to put a hold
on the package. Did you test this?
