Nautilus closes instead of minimizing?

Yes. If I start multiple instances of Nautilus/Files, but nothing else,
then press alt tab, there are NO icons except show desktop. When I
choose that it does show the desktop. Alt tab again offers to restore,
and all instances of Nautilus are restored. BUT if any instances are
minimized first, they still do NOT appear as icons, AND when alt tab
again offers to restore, the previously minimized instances of Nautilus
are **NOT** restored.

No. It seems to control lots of things and I was nervous about
removing/reinstalling it. When I had the KDE desktop and went to remove
a pgm it offered to also remove what looked like most of KDE. Would
removing nautilus do something similar?
