Nautilus closes instead of minimizing?

Yes, just delete it.
Can you reconfirm please that you see the same problem with minimise
if you logon as Guest.
Have you tried re-installing nautilus?
Reboot, check that minimise still (apparently) closes the window, and then run
grep nautilus /var/log/syslog
and paste the result here.
