Depends on what you're asking about. If you have specific questions
about Mint, you will probably have better luck in a Mint forum, but it
depends on the question. Unless it touches on something that Mint has
changed from the Ubuntu defaults you can probably get the answers you
need here.
As for Cinnamon on Trusty, look for a small cogwheel on the login
screen, there you can choose what DE to run in your session. You need
to select Cinnamon from that menu, or you will still get a Unity
session. (As long as you are still using lightdm).
Cinnamon might originally be a Mint project, but as it is available in
the Ubuntu repos there is no reason to ask anywhere else. Although it's
usually recommended to start a new thread, rather than ask an
unrelated question in an existing thread.
