You can't have looked very hard ;) View -> Panel 2 (or 3 or 4). You can
enable more than one of them at a time, so you can get up to 4 panes,
as I said earlier.

No, I think Thunar needs you to open two windows.

The scripting capabilites of SpaceFM takes it *far* beyond most file
managers I have ever seen. A file manager with AREXX scripting on
AmigaDOS would be a fair comparison, but I can't remember any.

Try Help -> FAQ or Help -> User Manual.

Right click a file/dir, and take a look at the Actions menu. You can
assign keybindings to those actions the normal GTK way.

Right click a file/dir, Properties -> Permissions (or Quick), and
Properties -> Root to adjust permissions as root.

Take a look at adding functionality via the Tools menu. You need to
click around a bit and make yourself familiar with the functionality
there, but it is really powerful. If you select to run a script instead
of a command, it gives you a template script with comments describing
the various variables SpaceFM sets for your use, etc. Check out the
manual also.

It doesn't have many dependencies, so no.

I'm pretty sure I do, Claws Mail inserts the sig separator
automatically. I can even see the trailing space both in my previous
message and in this one, so it might be your client.
