Printer won't initialize

Did you go to hp.com and look up how to do a hardware self-test? Usually 
it's a matter of pressing some combo of buttons on the printer.  If this 
fails, then it points to a printer hardware problem.  Of course, if it 
succeeds, then you're back to looking for a software issue.
