Depends what you want to do.
If you just want to open and view them, run the Microsoft Word Viewer
under WINE. (There are also Excel and PowerPoint viewers.) Install the
viewer(s) first, *then* install the Microsoft File Filter pack
afterwards to give them the ability to import .DOCX (etc) files.
That should let you see the contents.
If you want *total* compatibility, you'll have to buy MS Office.
