Wanted: Pro to build dual boot Ubuntu

Your new machine will probably come with Windows 8.1 installed.
Use Windows to shrink the disk usage so you can have one or two
good size partitions for Linux plus a small swap partition, and install
whatever Linux you want on those partitions and let the distro's
installer figure out how to dual boot.  Both Linux and Win 8.1 boot
pretty quickly, so it's not a hassle, and you'll probably find
that you only use one of the systems most of the time anyway.
