No, you didn't.

You tried to do an in-place upgrade: to load 4.3 on top of 4.2.

What I am saying is:

* remove 4.3
* see if 4.2 still works
* if it does, find 4.2 and remove it
* see if any trace of Skype remains

Once you have got rid of it, try a clean install of 4.3.
