interfaces automatically renamed without asking after reboot

You can edit the following file and name the interfaces as you like, and after you edit Ubuntu should not modify again:

 

/etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules

 

Or, you can also create another file to insure it won't be changed. Make sure the file above is empty, and then name the new one something like:

 

/etc/udev/rules.d/72-persistent-net.rules
