No.

Welcome to the world of Linux. There isn't any straightforward, easy
way of resolving this; the OS is not really structured that way.

If you were careful and clean and tidy about where you put stuff -
e.g. you *only* built stuff inside your own home directory -  then you
can start afresh and keep your home directory.
