Hi all,
@Cristopher: I couldn't find any magnifier ready to install at the Ubuntu
Software Center with the exception of KMag which while being a nice app
will pull a lot of KDE SC packages bringing some possible unwanted
secondary effects like configurations mismatch and so on.
If you are techy I suggest you take 10 minutes and learn how to use Compiz
(Ubuntu's built-in screen compositor) for your needs, here is a good
tutorial on how to install its control centre and configure it:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/164820/default-screen-magnifier. Compiz has
a very powerful and flexible magnifying ability you can tweak to your
likening.
Another interesting alternative that seems to suite some users well is this
application: http://magnifier.sourceforge.net/ (pay no attention to the
antique look and feel of the site!)
You will need to download this file:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/magnifier/files/magnifier%20for%20Linux/3.5/magnifier-linux-3.5.tar.bz2/downloadand
uncompress in a directory (folder) you own, like ~/bin or ~/apps and
just click it to launch the app.
Let me know if you need further directions!
