Sorry for the delay in following this up, but we don't print a lot.

Same problem just a little while ago: she printed two documents on the
W8 machine to \\BUNSEN\podlaser, & they sat in the queue on her
laptop. I logged into bunsen & found *a lot* of the following in
/var/log/samba/log.animal:

#v+
[2013/06/01 19:29:40.520204, 0] rpc_server/spoolss/srv_spoolss_nt.c:1748(_spoolss_OpenPrinterEx)
_spoolss_OpenPrinterEx: Cannot open a printer handle for printer \\BUNSEN

_spoolss_OpenPrinterEx: Cannot open a printer handle for printer \\BUNSEN

There was nothing from today in /var/log/cups/access_log or error_log
at that point. I restarted samba & waited a minute. Then I restarted
cups & the jobs went through. The only things I found after that were
the "job successful" lines in access_log & the following lines in
error_log, which (it turns out) appear every time I restart cups:

Does any of this make sense?

Thanks,
