problems printing over samba

It seems there is a name collision (last two lines).

Try logging on to the CUPS server from your Ubuntu laptop (the server's IP
address at port 631) and looking for a hint at the installed printers.

I'd also recommend setting the printer on the W8 machine using a virtual
TCP/IP port, and not by NetBIOS name (just take a look at the 'Ports" tab
at the 'Printer Preferences' on the W8 machine).
