Being unpleasant when you report problems isn't helpful, either.  "Being
old" isn't an excuse.  In fact, "being old" should indicate some level of
maturity in the face of adversity.

"The secret is to pick out the clues to get an idea of what's busted when
one of us old farts goes off on you."  What a disgusting attitude.  You
shouldn't be "going off" on anyone.
