Jared & Colin,
Thanks for the reply. The version I downloaded is:
  Ubuntu-Studio 12.04.3 "Precise Pangolin" - Release amd64.
I obtained this from the README file.
It contains an EFI directory with a BOOT directory that apparently is
meant for UEFI systems.
In the autorun it says:
[autorun]
open=wubi.exe
icon=wubi.exe,0
label=Install Ubuntustudio.
For me it indicates it will install it under W8, which is not what I
want. Eventually I want to install it besides W8 as I for updating my
TomTom (GPS-system) I need W8 regrettably.
But Jared, I will look at the link you mentioned.
Thanks and other suggestions are wellcome,
Joep
