Hello Joep,

I don't think this is some sort of conspiracy but I do think your
choice of installation media might be partly responsible. According to
a very helpful wiki page [1] "Create a LiveDVD or LiveUSB of Ubuntu
(>=12.04.2) 64bit" it would appear that the standard 12.04 will not
function with UEFI, it needs to be at least the .2 release. I'm not
certain if Ubuntu Studio do point releases but if not, that is the
first problem. The wiki page described has a very informative step by
step guide so I'd recommend going through that and letting us know at
what stage you get errors.
