Ubuntu instability

Liam Proven said, "sad to say, you are much better off with Windows."

Thank you for the detailed response, Liam. I think I'm going to stick with
Windows for now, yes. It may be beyond the scope of this list, but have you
any idea how I should fix the bootloader on my hard drive to boot into
Windows?

On my netbook, I did the following procedure:
1) Delete both Ubuntu partitions.
2) Boot into WindowsRE and run: bootrec /fixMBR
3) Voila.

This procedure doesn't work on my desktop for whatever reason. Actually,
before I modified anything, the bootloader that Ubuntu installed broke my
ability to boot into Windows. When I picked Windows 8 from the boot menu,
I'd simply be taken right back to the boot menu. After trying my method, the
Ubuntu bootloader is still intact so of course would complain that it's
missing the Ubuntu partition.

Bottom line, I can't boot up my PC right now. Any hint as to what I could
try would be awesome.

Cheers,

Grant
