Flash Issues on old 32 bit pc

Thanks for the advice.....

Yes Colin it is 32bit and old 32bit CPU.
Shockwave flash may well be adobe's plugin, still does not mean it
works! I may be confusing myself but I thought that swf  was the FOSS
version of flash, which if I am right, I would rather use on
principle.


Liam, if I am about to make a disastrous mistake please let me know!
The commands needed to achive your suggested steps are;

sudo apt-get remove adobe-flashplugin
sudo apt-get purge adobe-flashplugin
sudo apt-get remove ubuntu-restricted-extras
sudo apt-get purge ubuntu-restricted-extras

now the bit I am uncertain of....

sudo reboot -fsck -n             ??????

then via synaptic install ubuntu-restricted-extras

Hope I am correct....
