just doing an :
# ls /etc/init
shows quite a few entries. I would be very careful stopping any of
those... going through the GUI would at least give you some idea of
what they are..
man pages would also be handy to read:)
my system . Ubuntu 13.04 can reboot in a VERY short time.. maybe a total
reboot in 2 minutes. This same computer running Windows 7 took ( wait
for it) a FULL 10 MINUTES to get back to a usable state. It was
PAINFUL.. Now I run playonlinux to get Quicken 10 and Itunes. I have
Quicken 13 but couldn't get it to run using playonlinux..
