yes sir that is what i'm talking about. the unity/gome3 ui.  i truly 
adored the gnome2 gui and when i had heard it going away in favor of 
what is now.  i was a little upset but willing to try. I've been using 
12.04 since it's release and really really tried to get in to the grove 
with it.  but i just don't see it happening here.  *yes I've tried other 
window managers here and there* but nothing quiet hits home like g2.

with that being said, thank you very much for your input and i hope to 
hear others reply too.  I will investigate mate ui a bit and see if it's 
a viable option for me.  again thank you
