Can we please stop DE bashing and get back on topic for this mailing
list - as the header states it is for technical support not general
discussions. If you don't like Unity, try one of the multitude of
other DE's going around that are all a couple of clicks or a single
line of bash to get installed. There's even nicely formed lists out
there to help you choose -

If you have a support question relating to Unity in amongst all that
can you please pull it out of the jumbled mess of general ranting and
restate it? Otherwise please move on.
