I'm not sure how or why I got this one in particular. It seems like
the "same" as the one that came with CentOS (for Gnome 2.16).

I mainly got it because it had a nice interface for ripping CDs. Now
it's becoming more of a pain.

What do you use to rip CDs, or do you? One thing I like(d) about
goobox is that it rips to flac format - smaller than wavs but full
quality (which is nice if I decide I want to modify something, like
change the volume or cut out intros or codas I want separate, or piece
together multiple tracks that should not have been separate in the
first place).
