I can't speak to the MAC price but Windows Office 2007 was
about $420.00 to students! It is expensive so the question comes down to:
Do you want to run Windows Office at $400 a crack as each new
version costs, or can you use on Linux OR Windows Open Office, which is
free for each new version?
If you need the latest cutting edge it will be expensive but that
you must pay. But if you can do what you need on Open Office it is free.
