Has Ubuntu 10.2 fixed Intel sound problem

There were some sound issues in 9.10, 10.04 has been fine (for me
anyway).  Why are you worried about sound on 9.10 if you are going to
upgrade to 10.04?  Why install 9.10 first anyway, better to install
10.04 directly.
