Best 3d graphics card?

Generally, nVidia cards are your best bet... although see my note below.

I also like to support ATI's efforts to open-source their drivers...plus
their cards realyl fit my budget better than nVidia ones do.

On that note, I just bought a brand new ATI Radeon 4850 for my desktop,
and it's performing beautifully. I'm even able to play some games that
wouldnt work on my older ATI card. so...I guess its really just a toss
up anymore...
