Maybe for the very same reason he prevents older hardware from remaining
viable, as he has done since the Apple][+ to the present. It's his M.O.
He always has done that and always will. You may count on it happening
in the future, as sure as God made little green apples, so it's best not
to buy his products, as that just encourages him.
