I am running Lucid beta 1 and a few days ago I bought an Epson scanner
which I installed and it is working fine. But the instructions which
came with it are a single page of paper while the full manual is on a CD
- and I want to read that manual to find out about something.
Well, the CD is for Windows, of course, and when I went to look at it in
Lucid it simply would not show up as a CD for me to be able to view its
contents and read the manual. When I insert it in the drive, nothing
happens. I am still working out why I cannot see it in Lucid - but I'll
get there :-) .
What I am getting to here is maybe you ought to try another brand of CD
or at least try using another CD from the same spindle - its' possible
that the CD is somehow bad. This is probably not the reason but it is
still worth testing. What happens when you try a non-blank CD or a DVD?
