IMO gvfs is a disappointment in general.  I do not recommend using it
for anything critical.  It's a nice toy, but search for open bugs in
gvfs[0] and you might reach the same conclusion as me: it's not ready
for prime-time, and may lose/corrupt your data.  Use rsync, mc,
filezilla, sftp cli, etc. instead if you care about what you're
transferring.
