I can't imagine a printer so old it doesn't support either a parallel
OR USB cable. For example mine is a Brother Laser Printer model HL-1440
I bought new 4 years ago. I started on my old computer using a parallel
cable, but I purchased a bunch of USB cables for $3.00 at Thrifty Nickel
and one fit my printer and I plugged it in and now it works with USB.
