I had a Canon BubbleJet parallel printer circa Stone Age. When I got my
new desktop there was no parallel port so I picked up a parallel to USB
cable and got it working. The problem was that every time I went to use
it I had to play with changing drivers. It never worked with the same
one twice. Finally it refused to work at all and I believe it's now in
low Earth orbit. Later I was told by repair shop that a lot of people
have trouble with those cables. I went with a new cheap HP and never
looked back.
