I think it is time for a clean install of Ubuntu 8.10 (released in October 2008) which will have updates at
least until April 2010 (all "normal releases" provide 18 months of updates at least). 8.10 is very stable now,
since it has updates of 6 months, and since it provides a newer kernel, it supports more hardware out of the box.
8.04 is a "long term release", and the next "long term release" will be 10.04 (that is April 2010).
8.10 provides adobe flash in its repositories for both x86 and x64 versions. Plus I consider it an important
improvement over 8.04.
9.04 has just been released (April 2009) and as a "normal release" it will have at least 18 months of updates too.
