You need to provide some more information before anyone can help you
with this. For instance:
- Motherboard make and model
- Cpu make and model (ok you gave this Celeron D)
- Harddrive attachment type (SATA or PATA)
- Cdrom make and attachment (PATA or SATA)
- install media type (32 or 64 bit)
Also run the 'check disk for defects' option on the media itself and
report back with the results.
It might be helpful to describe more fully what partitioning scheme you
used - from you message it looks like you had:
partition1: / (ext4)
partition2: swap
As others have mentioned, if you want to use ext4 you need a separate
/boot partition formatted as ext2 or ext3.
Finally I'm a bit confused about your comment 'both start from the
beginning...' for the partitions - hopefully you don't have them
overlapping? (that would be bad).
