Well, to be on the safe side, I opened Synaptic, and searched on
"screen" I don't have kscreensaver installed, but there are a couple of
packages installed that go with it. Here they are with their descriptions.

When I mark these for removal, they also want to remove
ubuntu-desktop... Now I have done a previous search in Synaptic, and
discovered that ubuntu-desktop isn't even installed on here, but I'm
nervous about letting it try to remove it.
I think before I do that, I'm going to re-install gnome-screensaver, and
then mark it for complete removal instead of just removal to see if that
helps any.
