Subject: ok didnt work to remove WINE

Ok I did as instructed but when I restarted and tried to reinstall WINE I get the dependencies can not be resolved error. Any suggestions?

Melissa -

What are you using to install WINE? I would recommend using Synaptic. Shortly after you bring up Synaptic, it should tell you if you have any broken packages in the status bar at the bottom of the window; even if it shows 0, I would still go in on one of the menu drop-downs and select "fix packages." Then do a search on Wine to find the package(s) including Wine Doors and do one of two things, if they are shown installed, click on re-install or just install. Synaptic is very good at resolving dependencies and will ask you if adding packages to fixe dependencies is okay. If packages/dependencies can't be resolved, then there are repository issues where the correct set of Ubuntu file repositories are not being accessed or are not accessible.

If you need more help, it would be useful to have more information, specifically the errors in detail that you are getting.
