right, ltsp in ubuntu doesnt use NFS anymore, we use NBD which provided
to be about 10x faster (it has the drawback that you have to export an
image instead of a filesystem though but you can use union/aufs which
gets you immensely fast boottimes compared to nfs)

right, nfs isnt configured at all since two years (changed with ubuntu
gutsy) in ubuntu ltsp ... [3] might help you here ...

generally [4] has a good collection of ltsp help...
and there is also the upstream documentation (mainly based on the never
finished edubuntu handbook) at [5]
