LTSP: lost in a maze of twisty little scripts, all different

Hi list,

if this isn't the right place to ask this question, please point
me to the correct one.

I'm trying to save the image of a 20GB notebook disk physically
mounted in a thin client with only the network port to boot from.
My problem seems to stem from the fact that in my LAN there is
a DHCP server running dnsmasq which can't be used as the ltsp
server. Consequently I installed ltsp-server on a box that's
used as a file server anyway.

Up to now I've got to the point where IF-Config: eth0 complete
shows up on the client's screen, but I don't find a way to
specify the kernel parameter nfsroot=$FILESERVERIP:$ROOTPATH .

All client parameters from address up to domain are set correctly,
but I can't get around these:

| rootserver: $DHCPSERVERIP rootpath: <empty>
| filename : <empty>

With DHCPSERVERIP != FILESERVERIP the screen fills up with

| nfsmount: need a path

lines forever.

Reading the sources led to this Subject :)

I'm stuck and looking for a kind soul that tells me the cheat.

Thanks
  Siggy
