I Need to Ask an Oracle Oracle.

I am asking this to kick things along a bit because I was asked
to do this quite some time ago and folks are waiting.

We want to use a ubuntu system to query an Oracle10 data
base which is on a Pinnacle V6 server so we need a client. The people
running the data base tell me that they will be using secure
queries so we need to speak encryption.

What we will be doing is using php to query, getting
certain fields from the data base, modifying them with a script
of our making and then dumping them to yet another system,
access to which poses no particular problem so the issue is
finding a client in ubuntu that will have a good chance at
talking to the Pinnacle server.

Any ideas? Linux is not new to me at all, but This sort
of project is and there seem to be a million ways to waste a
million hours that we don't have to waste. My sincerest thanks
for any and all good suggestions.
