I run Xubuntu full time on three systems. One is a server for internet,
printer, and files. One is in use most of the day, and the third is for
testing. I have not run the speed tests, but it is faster than Gnome on
these systems. Of course, one is a PII 400 Mhz/256MB Ram; the one I use
all day is a PIII/1.2Ghz, with 384MB Ram. I find if I don't overload
them with applications, the speed is fine.
