I have one of those and I've not seen that problem before. Can you post
the output of dmesg when you plug it in, as well as the output of a tail
of syslog too? What does 'df' say as well. That might help determine
the problem. Without that, I'm afraid I'd just be guessing.
I've seen issues with HAL where mine will mount at say /media/sda1 then
a short time later (minutes maybe?) it'll suddenly show up at
/media/sdb1, etc. I've gone all the way to /sdk1 before noticing it.
Shutting down hald immediately after mounting it usually keeps that from
happening. In most cases I shut down hal altogether before connecting
to my system just to keep it from mounting if all I need is to charge
it. That way I can 'grab and go'.
