Bad CD alternate install method required.

I have a laptop running pclinuxos that I want to switch over to Ubuntu, 
but I my CD ROM is not working anymore.  I am hooked up to a network 
with another working Ubuntu desktop.  I also have a 2GB USB thumb drive.

What is the best way to install Ubuntu on this laptop with the tools I 
have at hand?

Toshiba Satellite A10.
