The reason is that the virtualbox kernel module was not yet available when 
the kernel update came. Meanwhile there is a package 
virtualbox-ose-modules-2.6.24-17-generic available. If you have installed 
the package virtualbox-ose-modules-generic, you should get it 
automatically with the next update.
