There should be no problem storing the file on a linux fileserver.
Which protocol do you intend to access the file with? samba? ftp?
Please write to Solidworks and let them know that you are interested
in Solidworks for Linux. Writing to them _does_ make a difference,
otherwise they have no way of knowing that we need their product. Here
