Problem upgrading from 7.10 to 8.04 -- solved... with time

My thanks to all who responded. Tried the upgrade again this morning and it 
-uh- worked perfectly. Pulled the final three files down in jig time, then 
went on through the install, cleanup, and restart without a whisper of 
complaint. All in the timing, I guess.
