    Pulse Audio is supposed to GIVE you the ability to have more than 
one audio  function running at the same time. I have not seen it do 
this. But it has not ruined my use of the sound card for DSP processing. 
This was a pleasant surprise.

     In my opinion Pulse Audio works good in Ubuntu Hardy. It was 
terrible when introduced in Fedora 8.
