with the Ubuntu desktop 8.04.1 64 bit CD, right at the start the keyboard
functions to select
language.
then with the list of options I can also select options with the keyboard,
and pressing capslock changes the caps-lock led.
I now select eg Install Ubuntu -- safe graphics mode
as it now boots capslock no longer changes the caps-lock led.
when the screen with the picture of the bird appears, the mouse doesnt
function.
there is the "Install" window and the mouse doesnt function.
I tried an alternative keyboard + mouse and the same problem.
I cannot see any other control options, other than the
mobo BIOS controls before the boot up.
I probably have to return to using Fedora Core 3,
the fact is that the keyboard functions earlier with Ubuntu 8.04.1,
but not later.
why cant they make a foolproof install disk?
in parallel I am asking about this on the Fedora Core list,
Fedora Core's boot allows you to edit the command line which Ubuntu desktop
8.04.1
doesnt appear to allow.
(trying out the Fedora 9 DVD 64 iso, also with freeze up)
