Why would you want to? Why do you care?

The automatic mounting of USB drives simply puts them into /media by
default. I'm pretty sure you can configure that somewhere (because you
can configure everything with Linux distros), but I have no clue where
to do that.  Probably something involving hal, udev and pmount.

The drive shows the name that is set by the filesystem's disk label.
